2017 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S Bound for Dealerships This Summer: 2016 Geneva Auto Show

GENEVA — The 2017 Bentley Flying Spur V8 S sedan, a new sporty addition to the Flying Spur roster, will go on sale at Bentley dealerships this summer, following a global debut at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show in March.

Pricing has not been announced.

The all-wheel-drive Flying Spur V8 S slots in between the Flying Spur V8 and the Bentley Continental W12 flagship sedan and is aimed at the Audi A8, Jaguar XJL, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The latest member of the Flying Spur lineup features 21 more horsepower than the base model and a revised suspension. The Flying Spur V8 S is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that delivers 521 hp and 502 pound-feet of torque.

Top speed is pegged at 190 mph. The new model sprints from zero-60 in 4.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the base model.

Exterior cues emphasize sportiness and include a black radiator grille and rear diffuser. Options include dark-tint exterior lights, black gloss exterior mirror covers and Mulliner Driving Specification 21-inch black wheels for a "menacing" look, Bentley said.

The cabin features a three-spoke sports steering wheel and piano-black wood trim. A Wi-Fi hotspot is optional.

Edmunds says: Ultra-lux buyers get another option to consider if the Flying Spur is on their shopping lists.
