2017 Audi A4 Allroad Priced at $44,950

HERNDON, Virginia — The all-new 2017 Audi A4 Allroad wagon is on the way to Audi dealerships with a starting price of $44,950, including a $950 destination charge.

The A4 Allroad is a companion vehicle to the standard A4 sedan and straddles the line between wagons and crossover SUVs. Competitors include the BMW X1, Subaru Outback and Volvo XC70.

The 2017 A4 Allroad Premium Plus model is priced at $47,950 and the top-of-the-line Prestige model starts at $52,350. Prices include shipping.

In comparison, the 2016 Audi Allroad starts at $43,625.

Based on the 2017 Audi A4 sedan, the A4 Allroad wagon adds a slightly higher ride height, SUV-like styling cues and standard Quattro all-wheel drive.

It is equipped with an upgraded 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The engine is linked to a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The A4 Allroad features a revised five-link suspension with standard adaptive dampers, an option on the A4 sedan. The setup delivers a comfortable ride on and off road.

Audi's Drive Select system is upgraded on the A4 Allroad to include an "off-road" setting for improved performance on the trail.

Options include the Audi virtual cockpit, which features a 12.3-inch display, along with a head-up display and 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers who seek something a little different from the typical crossover will want to consider the 2017 Audi A4 Allroad.
