2017 Acura TLX Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2017 Acura TLX midsize sedan earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

On sale now at Acura dealerships, the 2017 TLX received five stars in the front, side and rollover crash tests.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2017 TLX, which is a carryover vehicle.

Standard safety equipment on the 2017 TLX includes antilock brakes, traction control, vehicle stability control, a rearview camera and seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag.

Optional safety equipment includes road departure mitigation and forward collision warning.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2017 TLX.

Key competitors to the TLX include the Lexus IS, Infiniti Q50 and Lincoln MKZ.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers keeping score should note that the 2017 Lincoln MKZ also earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2017 Lexus IS and Infiniti Q50 have not been rated.
