2017 Acura NSX Super Bowl Commercial Highlights New Acura Brand Strategy

TORRANCE, California — The 2017 Acura NSX, an all-new two-seat midengine hybrid coupe, will be featured in a new commercial during the first quarter of Super Bowl 50, as part of Acura's new Precision Crafted Performance brand campaign.

Select Acura dealers will start taking orders for the NSX by the end of the year and buyers will receive their cars early next year.

The new commercial hints that the vehicle configurator may go live shortly.

"Create yours starting 2/25/16," it said.

The commercial gets a boost from the Van Halen classic "Runnin' with the Devil."

Acura said the color palette of the NSX Super Bowl commercial is red, white and blue, a nod to the NSX's American roots. Production is set to begin this spring at the new Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio.

"The spot is a showcase of the Precision Crafted Performance brand direction that is core to the Acura brand and vividly represented in the NSX supercar," Acura said in a statement.

The 2017 NSX takes on the Audi R8 V10 and Porsche 911 Turbo.

The Super Bowl auto advertising offensive will also include Buick's first-ever Super Bowl commercial for the 2016 Buick Cascada convertible. The Cascada is set to arrive at Buick dealerships in a few weeks.

The 2016 Kia Optima midsize sedan will also be featured in a Super Bowl commercial. It is on sale now at Kia dealerships.

Edmunds says: The NSX arrives on the Super Bowl stage kicking and screaming. It's sure to get noticed by car shoppers.
