"It's a way to express our appreciation to customers and to lighten up a long winter with some excitement and anticipation of winning," Patriot's marketing director, Tom Talbott, told Edmunds. "Our goal was to make it easy and not ask people to participate in some wild, attention-grabbing promotional stunt. We do not sell cars that way, so why should we give one away that way?"
Entering is simple.
Just drop by one of Patriot's stores, fill out an entry form and drop it in the box. Or visit the company's Facebook page from a computer or mobile device and click the link to register.
"No games, no gimmicks," said Talbott. "Enter, we'll draw a name, we'll have a winner. We do not use the registration list for anything else except sending an e-mail the following year that we're doing the giveaway again. We do not even ask people to 'Like us' on Facebook, but many do anyway."
The prize is a Venetian Red Pearl 2016 Subaru Impreza 2.0i AWD with five-speed transmission and the latest Vehicle Dynamics Control system.
Here are Patriot sales associates Chris Paine and Todd Erickson talking about the contest and discussing some features of the 2016 Impreza:
Patriot Subaru says the cash equivalent value of the prize is "approximately $19,220." Of course, the winner is responsible for taxes and other fees, including the vehicle's title, insurance and registration.
To enter the drawing, entrants must be at least 18 years of age and, for the Saco contest, a resident of Maine or New Hampshire, and for the North Attleboro drawing, a resident of Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Connecticut.
Can't wait for Valentine's Day?
Subaru of New England dealerships, including Patriot Subaru, are holding a Washington's Birthday Sales Event, with special lease and finance offers on models like the 2016 Outback wagon, 2016 Forester and Crosstrek SUVs and the 2016 BRZ coupe.
Edmunds says: Nothing says happy Valentine's Day like a new 2016 Subaru Impreza.
