2016 Nissan Maxima Production Revs Up Ahead of Summer Showroom Debut

SMYRNA, Tennessee — Production of the 2016 Nissan Maxima, a fully redesigned version of Nissan's flagship sedan, kicked off on Tuesday here.

The 2016 Maxima will arrive at Nissan dealerships this summer starting at $33,235, including an $825 destination charge.

In addition to a radically redesigned exterior, the Maxima also features an updated interior that edges close to luxury territory.

A 2016 Nissan Maxima configurator and pre-sale reservation program is available now.

The program rewards eligible buyers who place orders through the reservation Web site before June 2, 2015 with three years/36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance on their new Maxima. Purchases must be completed before January 4, 2016.

The Maxima is one of six models currently built at Nissan's Smyrna plant and is assembled on the same line as the Nissan Altima midsize sedan and Nissan Leaf electric vehicle.

Key competitors to the Maxima include the Chevrolet Impala, Hyundai Azera and Toyota Avalon.

Edmunds says: The wait is about to end for the 2016 Maxima.
