2016 Mini Cooper Clubman All4 Bound for Mini Dealerships in April

WOODCLIFF LAKE, New Jersey — The 2016 Mini Cooper Clubman All4 wagon, which features an all-wheel-drive system to better tackle inclement weather, goes on sale in April at Mini dealerships in the U.S.

Car shoppers who want to build or pre-order the Mini Clubman All4 can use the vehicle configurator that is set to go live in late January or visit their local dealer, Mini USA said on Tuesday.

Pricing has not been announced.

The five-passenger Mini Clubman All4 gives buyers a fresh alternative to traditional SUVs. The 2016 Mini Cooper Countryman also offers optional all-wheel drive.

Competitors to the Mini Clubman All4 include the Audi A3, Subaru Outback and Volkswagen Golf SportWagen.

Buyers get a choice of two engines with the new Clubman All4.

A 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine delivers 134 horsepower in the Cooper Clubman All4 and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 189 hp in the Cooper S Clubman All4.

The engines are linked to a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.

Standard equipment includes dual-zone climate control, Mini Connected Infotainment with a 6.5-inch display and Bluetooth.

Optional equipment includes a rearview camera, head-up display and LED headlights.

All-wheel-drive models can be ordered with the new Digital Blue metallic exterior paint.

Edmunds says: The Mini Cooper Clubman gets a major dose of practicality with the addition of all-wheel drive, something that should have great appeal to buyers in Northern states.
