ATLANTA — The all-new 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class compact crossover SUV, which is slated to arrive at U.S. Mercedes-Benz dealerships in November, will start at $39,875, including a $925 destination charge, Mercedes-Benz USA announced Tuesday.
The base price is for the GLC300 rear-wheel-drive model.
The other GLC model, the all-wheel-drive GLC300 4Matic, starts at $41,875, including shipping.
Pricing has not been announced for the 2016 GLA. The new 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 starts at $52,025 with rear-wheel drive, including shipping. It arrives at dealerships in August.
The 2016 GLC features all-new sheet metal and a new interior design, differing greatly from its GLK predecessor.
At its U.S. launch, the 2016 GLC300 will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard. Mercedes-Benz said additional powertrain choices will be available in 2016 and 2017, including both diesel and hybrid options.
Edmunds says: Like last year's redesigned Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the new GLC-Class SUV moves a bit upmarket in terms of its design, interior quality and most notably, price.
