TORRANCE, California — The new 2016 Lexus GS F, a high-performance version of the standard Lexus GS sedan, will arrive at Lexus dealerships in December, with a starting price of $85,380, according to Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A.
Pricing includes a $940 destination charge.
Lexus spokeswoman Leigh Anne Sessions told Edmunds there are only two GS F options. They are a $1,380 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system and $300 orange brake calipers.
The new Lexus rear-wheel-drive sport sedan is equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine that deliver 467 horsepower and 389 pound-feet of torque. The engine is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
A torque-vectoring differential comes standard on the GS F. It allows precise control of power to each of the rear wheels depending on the driving conditions. From the driver's standpoint, it gives the GS F a feeling of stability at high speeds and agility at low speeds.
Exterior cues include a carbon-fiber rear spoiler, quad exhaust tips and the trademark Lexus spindle grille.
The five-passenger cabin features bucket-style F Sport front seats, a three-spoke steering wheel and carbon-fiber trim.
The trunk can hold four golf bags.
Edmunds says: The price tag may seem steep, but luxury buyers should note that this is a well-equipped model that is priced competitively against its German rivals.
