The Optima Hybrid is a carryover vehicle. Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, antilock brakes, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control, traction control and hill start assist control.
The Optima Hybrid EX can be ordered with an optional Technology package that adds a blind-spot detection system with rear cross-traffic alert and a back-up warning system.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2016 Optima Hybrid.
Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid, Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and Toyota Camry Hybrid also earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA.
