2016 Infiniti QX50 Set for Showroom Debut in September

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — The updated 2016 Infiniti QX50 SUV will make its debut at Infiniti dealerships in September, Infiniti said.

Pricing is expected to be announced soon.

The 2016 Infiniti QX50 now rides on a longer wheelbase for more passenger room. It also gets a fully updated exterior along with a revised cabin that brings it into line with the Q50 sedan.

The drivetrain carries over largely unchanged, so it's still powered by a 3.7-liter V6 paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission that sends power to either the rear wheels or all four wheels.

A power moonroof and heated front seats are now standard on all models. Hagane Blue is a new exterior color.

A new Premium Plus option package has been added, featuring an Infiniti navigation system, Around View Monitor, streaming audio via Bluetooth and front and rear sonar system.

Key competitors to the QX50, which was previously called the Infiniti EX35, include the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.

Edmunds says: Luxury shoppers in this busy segment can plan on making a date with their Infiniti dealer next month to get a closer look at the QX50 changes.
