2016 Infiniti Q70 Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government


WASHINGTON — The 2016 Infiniti Q70 full-size luxury sedan earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

On sale now at Infiniti dealerships, the 2016 Q70 received four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Q70. The 2016 Infiniti Q70 Hybrid has not been rated.

Standard safety equipment on the Q70 includes six airbags, electronic stability control and antilock brakes. Optional safety equipment includes lane-departure warning, forward-collision warning, front pre-crash seatbelts and blind-spot warning.

The 2016 Q70 earned the 2016 Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, receiving "good" scores in all Institute crash tests.

Key Q70 rivals include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers keeping score should note that the 2016 Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earned a four-star overall safety rating.
