2016 Hyundai Tucson Teased Ahead of 2015 Geneva Auto Show

GENEVA — A design sketch of the redesigned 2016 Hyundai Tucson was released on Tuesday ahead of the compact SUV's debut at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show.

"Our new compact SUV will be a big step forward for the Hyundai brand globally," said Peter Schreyer, president and chief design officer of Hyundai Motor Group, in a statement.

The sketch shows a redesigned Tucson with sharper lines and the Hyundai signature hexagonal grille.

No other details about the 2016 Tucson were released.

The Tucson competes against the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage and Toyota RAV4.

The 2016 Tucson will be unveiled on March 3.

Edmunds says: The last major redesign for the Tucson occurred in 2010, followed by a tsunami of competitors in this popular segment. This redesign should lure shoppers back into the Hyundai showroom.
