2016 Hyundai Sonata at Dealerships Now, Starting at $22,585

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, California — The 2016 Hyundai Sonata midsize sedan is on sale now at Hyundai dealerships, starting at $22,585, including an $835 destination charge, Hyundai Motor America announced on Friday.

Pricing reflects a $625 increase over the 2015 Sonata.

The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid arrived at dealerships in May, priced at $26,825 including shipping.

Hyundai said the 2016 Sonata offers more features, minor styling updates and suspension upgrades.

The 2016 Sonata adds automatic emergency braking on models previously equipped with forward-collision warning.

SE, Sport, Limited, Eco and Sport 2.0T models get an audio display with smartphone integration.

Aluminum suspension components are added to improve handling.

The carryover engine lineup includes a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque on SE, Limited and Sport models.

The Sonata Sport 2.0T and Limited 2.0T are equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 245 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque.

Key Sonata competitors include the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers in this crowded segment can expect a price increase on the 2016 Sonata, but also some upgrades.
