"The wait is finally over," Ford said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Focus RS, a high-performance hatchback, is priced from $36,775, including an $875 destination charge.
The first customer to take delivery of the Focus RS is showcased in a new Ford video.
The Focus RS is propelled by a specially engineered version of Ford's 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. The engine produces 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque and has a top speed of 165 mph.
Power is transmitted through a six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system that monitors inputs from multiple vehicle sensors 100 times per second.
The Focus RS provides four different drive modes, including Normal, Sport, Track and an exclusive Drift mode.
The cabin features partial-leather Recaro sport seats, a flat-bottom steering wheel and alloy pedals.
Edmunds says: It's time for performance enthusiasts to check in with their Ford dealer if they want to get their hands on one of the most talked-about hot hatches on the market.
