Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Edmunds complete pricing on the 2016 F-150 and the new packages will be released this summer.
He said buyers must first pick the sport-appearance package in order to get the new special-edition appearance packages.
Details include new 20-inch premium anodized dark-painted aluminum wheels with red sport lettering, black running boards, smoked headlights, unique bodyside graphics and badging, special-edition seats with Alcantara inserts, red contrast stitching and red bolsters.
The package also includes a dark anodized grille with black mesh on XLT, while the Lariat dark anodized grille gets red accents.
Other changes for 2016 include two new exterior paint colors: Shadow Black and Lithium Gray. The Sync 3 infotainment system replaces Sync with MyFord Touch. The F-150 XL can be ordered with optional 20-inch machined aluminum wheels with painted silver pockets.
Other previously announced upgrades include a new Pro Trailer Backup Assist option that makes it easier to launch a boat or park in a driveway, along with a gaseous-fuel prep option on trucks with the 5.0-liter V8 engine. This feature makes the F-150 capable of running on compressed natural gas or propane.
Edmunds says: The F-150 was all-new for the 2015 model year. The changes for 2016 highlight customization and convenience.
