MARANELLO, Italy — The 2016 Ferrari California T with a new Handling Speciale package will debut at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, in a bid to make the convertible more competitive against such rivals as the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabrio.
"Now owners looking for an even more sporty driving experience, particularly on challenging, twisty routes, have a new optional package to meet their needs," Ferrari said in a statement.
Ferrari North America spokesperson Morgan Theys said U.S. pricing on the package is not yet available.
With the new Handling Speciale package, buyers get a new exhaust system that boosts volume, along with a new matte-black front grille and rear diffuser.
The package provides stiffer springs, with a 16-percent increase for the front and a 19-percent increase in stiffness for the rear.
In Sport mode, the dual-clutch transmission shifts faster in automatic and manual settings.
A special plaque in the cabin tells the world that the California T is equipped with the HS optional package.
Edmunds says: It's not too early to talk to your Ferrari dealer about this desirable new option for the California T.
