DETROIT — The carryover 2016 Chevrolet Traverse SUV is priced at $32,100, including an $895 destination charge, reflecting a $230 price increase over the 2015 Traverse, according to the vehicle configurator at www.chevrolet.com.
The 2016 Traverse is beginning to arrive at Chevrolet dealerships.
The midrange 2016 Chevrolet Traverse 1LT starts at $34,900, including shipping, also for a $230 price increase.
The top-of-the-line 2016 Chevrolet Traverse LTZ is priced at $43,040, including shipping, also reflecting a $230 price increase.
Changes for the new model year include the addition of OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with a Wi-Fi hotspot, new optional 20-inch wheel designs and two new exterior colors. They are Iridescent Pearl and Mosaic Black Metallic.
The 2016 Traverse is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The engine is rated at 288 horsepower on LTZ models and 281 hp on LS and LT models.
GM's sales report this week said Traverse sales were up 10 percent for the SUV's best July retail sales since it was introduced for 2009.
Edmunds says: Car shoppers will find a relatively modest price increase on the 2016 Traverse, which should be appreciated, given the popularity of trucks and SUVs.
