2016 Cadillac SRX Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2016 Cadillac SRX crossover earned the highest five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2016 SRX received four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive SRX models.

The 2016 SRX, a carryover vehicle, is expected to arrive at Cadillac dealerships this summer.

Standard safety equipment includes electronic stability control with traction control and antilock brakes.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2016 SRX. But the 2015 SRX received "good" scores in all Institute crash tests.

Key competitors to the SRX include the Audi Q5, Lexus RX 350 and Volvo XC60.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2016 Audi Q5, Lexus RX 350 and Volvo XC60 have not been rated by NHTSA.
