2016 Cadillac CT6 To Feature New Bose Panaray Audio System

FRAMINGHAM, Massachusetts — The 2016 Cadillac CT6 flagship sedan will feature a new Bose Panaray audio system with 34 speakers, Bose announced ahead of the CT6's debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show.

Luxury car shoppers also got their first look at the cabin of the 2016 CT6, courtesy of the Bose announcement.

Production of the CT6 begins later this year as Cadillac targets such heavy hitters as the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Hyundai Equus.

The exclusive Bose Panaray system is designed to set the CT6 apart from the pack. It will be optional on higher-end versions of the CT6.

Other CT6 options include a 10-speaker Bose Centerpoint surround-sound system and an eight-speaker Bose system. Option packages and pricing will be announced closer to vehicle launch.

"We asked Bose to create something truly special for this new vehicle, a sound system unbounded by limits, providing an audio experience that hasn't been matched in any other luxury automobile," said Travis Hester, Cadillac CT6 executive chief engineer, in a statement.

Bose said the Panaray system speakers nearly all measure less than four inches in diameter and are positioned throughout the CT6 cabin.

Cadillac has been dribbling out information about the CT6 ahead of its debut on March 31.

It announced earlier that an all-new 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine will be one of the powertrain options available to buyers of the CT6.

Edmunds says: Cadillac is slowly filling in all the details about the CT6, from the exhaust note to the audio system offerings.
