LOS ANGELES — The 2016 BMW i3 Shadow Sport Edition, which features a moonroof and sport-tuned suspension, is headed to BMW dealerships starting at $48,395, including a $995 destination charge. The special model debuted at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.
It is $5,000 more expensive than the base 2016 BMW i3 hatchback electric vehicle. The base model is priced at $43,395, including shipping.
Just 50 units of the i3 Shadow Sport Edition will be offered, BMW of North America said.
The limited-edition model features Fluid Black exterior paint and a dark gray cloth interior with blue highlights.
The 2016 i3 has an MPGe rating of 137 in city driving and 111 on the highway, according to the EPA.
Edmunds says: EV shoppers who want a moonroof in their 2016 BMW i3 had better check in with their BMW dealer now, since supplies are limited.
