2016 Acura ILX Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2016 Acura ILX sedan earned the top five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Scores included four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The 2016 ILX is on sale now at Acura dealerships. It was redesigned for the new model year.

Standard safety equipment on the 2016 ILX includes a rearview camera, six airbags, vehicle-stability assist with traction control and antilock brakes. Optional safety equipment includes a forward-collision warning system and collision-mitigation braking.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2016 ILX.

Key competitors to the ILX include the Audi A3, Buick Verano and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers keeping score may want to note that the 2016 Audi A3 and Buick Verano also earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class has not been rated.
