2016-'17 Buick Envision Pitched at Young Families in New Ad Campaign

DETROIT — The 2016-'17 Buick Envision midsize crossover is aimed squarely at young families in a new advertising campaign.

The five-passenger Envision will arrive at Buick dealerships this summer, targeting the Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50, Lincoln MKC and Lexus NX 200t.

One commercial shows a dad trying to lull his child to sleep with a drive in the Envision. But the ride is so exciting that the child doesn't nod off. Later, the two fall asleep at the kitchen table.

Dads and kids are taking center stage in several new ad campaigns, including one for the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica.

The 2016 Envision starts at $42,995 for the base Premium model. A Premium II model is priced at $45,635, including shipping. Both of those versions are equipped with all-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Buick is rolling out high-end models first for an abbreviated 2016 model year.

The base 2017 Envision with a hands-free liftgate, foglamps and projector-beam halogen headlights starts at $34,990.

The Envision is built in China and slots in between the Buick Encore and Buick Enclave SUVs.

Edmunds says: Buick is hoping young families will put the 2016-'17 Envision on their consideration lists.
