HERNDON, Virginia — The 2015 Volkswagen Beetle coupe starts at $21,290, including an $820 destination charge, reflecting a $175 price increase over the 2014 model, according to Volkswagen of America.

VW's top-of-the-line 2015 Beetle R-Line with sunroof, sound, navigation system and a six-speed automatic transmission starts at $32,445, including shipping.

The 2015 Beetle is on sale now at Volkswagen dealerships.

Volkswagen said the Beetle range "sees minimal updates for 2015."

A limited-edition Beetle Classic joins the lineup. It starts at $21,015, including shipping, and adds unique seat fabric, front lumbar supports, a navigation system and a six-speed automatic transmission to the base 1.8T model.

Optional wheels include 17-inch Circle aluminum-alloy wheels in white or black, depending on the exterior color.

The 2.0-liter four-cylinder TDI Clean Diesel engine in the 2014 model is replaced by a new 150-horsepower 2.0-liter diesel engine. It makes 10 hp more than the outgoing model.

Key rivals to the Beetle include the Hyundai Veloster, Mini Cooper and Nissan Juke.

Edmunds says: The Beetle gets a modest price increase and few changes for the new model year.
