2015 Toyota Sienna Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The redesigned 2015 Toyota Sienna minivan earned the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2015 Sienna received four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models of the 2015 Sienna.

The 2015 Sienna is on sale now at Toyota dealerships.

Standard safety equipment includes eight airbags, antilock brakes, vehicle stability control and traction control.

For 2015, there’s an additional Latch location for a child seat available in the third-row seat. Toyota increased the side curtain airbag coverage area by 30 percent, helping to improve protection in a crash.

Optional blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is optional on Sienna SE, XLE and Limited models. A pre-collision system is optional on the Limited model.

The 2015 Sienna has been named a 2014 Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Key Sienna competitors include the Dodge Grand Caravan, Honda Odyssey and Nissan Quest.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Honda Odyssey also earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan earned a four-star rating, while the 2015 Nissan Quest has not been rated.
