2015 Toyota RAV4 Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON The 2015 Toyota RAV4 SUV earned a four-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Five stars is the highest rating.

The RAV4 received four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test. The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the RAV4.

The rating does not cover the Toyota RAV4 EV.

The 2015 RAV4 is on sale now at Toyota dealerships.

Standard safety equipment includes eight airbags, including a driver knee airbag, along with vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes and Smart Stop technology.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2015 RAV4.

The RAV4 competes with the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Escape and Honda CR-V.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox earned a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Ford Escape and Honda CR-V have not been rated.
