2015 Ram ProMaster City Priced at $24,125

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — The 2015 Ram ProMaster City, a new small van that targets the Nissan NV200 and the Ford Transit Connect, starts at $24,125, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said on Wednesday.

Pricing includes a $995 destination charge.

The base price is for the Tradesman Cargo model. The top-of-the-line ProMaster City Wagon SLT with rear and side windows starts at $26,650, including shipping.

Small business owners, including painters, carpenters and florists, are the key audience for the newest Ram van.

The ProMaster City arrives at Ram dealerships early next year.

It is equipped with a 178-horsepower 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is rated at 21 mpg in city driving and 29 mpg on the highway, according to the automaker. The EPA has not posted official fuel economy ratings on the ProMaster City.

Payload is pegged at 1,883 pounds, while towing capacity is 2,000 pounds.

The ProMaster City is based on the Fiat Doblo and is built at the TOFAS plant in Bursa, Turkey.

Edmunds says: The Ram ProMaster City comes out of the box priced a bit higher than its two main competitors, but with a lot to offer to this growing audience.
