CYPRESS, California The base 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage subcompact hatchback starts at $13,805, including an $810 destination charge, reflecting a $15 price increase over the base 2014 model.

The increase in the base model reflects a price hike of $15 on the destination charge. The midrange 2015 Mirage models get a $115 price increase, however.

Equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the midrange 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage DE starts at $14,905, including shipping.

A five-speed-manual-equipped 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES starts at $15,105, including shipping.

The top-of-the-line 2015 Mirage ES with a CVT and navigation package starts at $17,105, including shipping.

Changes for the 2015 model year are minor. They include new chrome interior accent trim for all models, an interior seat fabric upgrade on the ES model and a rear-mounted short pole antenna on all models.

The Mirage was a new addition to Mitsubishi’s U.S. portfolio for 2014. Expect the 2015 Mirage to arrive in U.S. dealer showrooms this summer.

It competes with the 2015 Chevrolet Spark, Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2 and Scion iQ.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should keep in mind that while the pricing on the base 2015 Mirage is virtually unchanged, the midrange models with more equipment get a bigger price increase.
