STUTTGART, Germany The revised 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class sedan will arrive at U.S. dealerships in the fall, said Mercedes-Benz USA on Thursday.

Pricing will be announced closer to launch.

The U.S. market launch includes the 2015 CLS400, CLS400 4Matic, CLS550, CLS550 4Matic and CLS63 AMG S-Model 4Matic, the automaker said.

The CLS-Class targets the 2014-'15 Audi A7, Maserati Quattroporte and Porsche Panamera.

A key question for car shoppers is whether the CLS-Class will get the futuristic Multibeam LED headlights.

Terry C. Wei, a Mercedes-Benz spokeswoman, told Edmunds the U.S.-specification cars will get the optional Multibeam LED headlights — but with a caveat. The U.S. cars will not get the Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus feature because it does not meet federal lighting standards here. The new lights adjust themselves automatically to any traffic situation.

In the U.S., the lights go from high beam, to dynamic low beam, to low beam," Wei wrote in response to a query. "It does not do the high beam with lane dimming or the high beam which is turned off when behind another vehicle."

The 2015 CLS-Class comes standard with all-LED headlights in a new design.

Other changes for the new model year include a new chrome diamond radiator grille, a front bumper with large air intakes and slightly darkened taillights. The cabin also features upgrades, including a redesigned three-spoke sports steering wheel.

The 2015 CLS400 is equipped with a new 329-horsepower V6 bi-turbo engine. The 2015 CLS550 is equipped with a 402-hp 4.6-liter V8 biturbo engine.

A new nine-speed automatic transmission will debut first in the CLS550 rear-wheel-drive model, with the other models receiving it later, according to the automaker.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers in the luxury sedan segment get some important initial information about the face-lifted 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class.
