2015 Lincoln Navigator Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government


WASHINGTON — The redesigned 2015 Lincoln Navigator full-size SUV earned the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The rating applies to the standard Navigator and the Navigator L or extended-wheelbase version.

The 2015 Lincoln Navigator 4x2 model received five stars in the front and side crash tests and three stars in the rollover crash test, while the 2015 Lincoln Navigator 4x4 model received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

On sale now at Lincoln dealerships, the 2015 Navigator comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, trailer sway control, front-seat side airbags, three-row side curtain airbags and a post-crash alert system. Front and rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also standard.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2015 Navigator.

Key competitors to the Navigator include the Cadillac Escalade, Lexus LX 570 and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, Lexus LX 570 and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class have not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
