2015 Lincoln MKX Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2015 Lincoln MKX midsize luxury SUV earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating.

The 2015 MKX earned three stars in the front crashworthiness test, five stars in the side crashworthiness test and four stars in the rollover test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2015 MKX.

The 2015 MKX is on sale now at Lincoln dealerships.

Standard safety equipment on the MKX includes six airbags, antilock brakes, traction control and stability control.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety said the MKX received "good" scores in all of its crashworthiness tests.

Key competitors to the MKX include the Acura MDX, BMW X5 and Lexus RX 350.

The redesigned 2016 MKX is due in dealer showrooms this fall.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Acura MDX and BMW X5 earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Lexus RX 350 received mixed scores: four stars for the front-wheel-drive model and five for the AWD model.
