2015 Lincoln MKC Earns Four-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government


WASHINGTON — The new 2015 Lincoln MKC SUV earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating.

The MKC earned four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test. This rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the MKC.

The MKC is on sale now at Lincoln dealerships.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2015 MKC.

Standard safety equipment on the MKC includes seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag. Other standard features include antilock brakes and traction control with roll stability control. Optional safety features include a Blind Spot Information System and a collision-warning system.

Key MKC competitors include the Audi Q5, Cadillac SRX and Lexus RX 350.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Cadillac SRX earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Audi Q5 earned a four-star overall safety rating. The front-wheel-drive version of the 2015 Lexus RX 350 earned a four-star overall safety rating, while the all-wheel-drive version earned the top five-star safety rating.
