2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR To Debut at 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance

MAHWAH, New Jersey The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR will make its global debut on August 14 at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the automaker confirmed on Monday.

The 550-horsepower Range Rover Sport SVR will arrive at U.S. dealerships next spring, said Stuart Schorr, a Jaguar Land Rover spokesman, in response to an Edmunds query. He said pricing is not available at this point.

The SUV is the first model to wear the new SVR designation, which will appear on all future Range Rover high-performance models.

Key competitors to the Range Rover Sport SVR include the BMW X5, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Porsche Cayenne.

Joining the Range Rover Sport SVR at Pebble Beach will be the U.S. production version of the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 and the prototype of the new Jaguar Lightweight E-Type, of which six customer cars will be built.

The Jaguar F-Type Project 7 and the Range Rover Sport SVR are from Jaguar Special Vehicle operations. The Lightweight E-Type is the first re-creation from Special Operation's Jaguar Heritage team.

The F-Type Project 7 is an all-aluminum, road-legal two-seat roadster with carbon-fiber aerodynamic features. It is based on the 2014 Jaguar F-Type.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers now know when the Range Rover Sport SVR will appear in U.S. showrooms. Look for Jaguar Land Rover to steal much of the spotlight at the upcoming Pebble Beach festivities.
