IRVINE, California — The 2015 Kia Soul starts at $15,900, including an $800 destination charge, reflecting a $205 price increase over the 2014 model.

The top-of-the-line 2015 Kia Soul ! or Exclaim model starts at $21,500, including shipping.

The 2015 Soul is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships this summer.

Kia has not announced pricing on the 2015 Kia Soul EV.

The gasoline-powered Soul is a carryover model with minimal changes for the new model year. They include a new $900 Umber package that includes premium Napa leather-trimmed seats, Napa color door armrest accents and Gloss Black wheel inserts.

A $3,000 Primo package adds a long list of items, including a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats and push-button start with smart key.

A new Uvo eServices telematics package offers four new features for 2015. They are geo-fencing, speed alert, curfew alert and driving score. Driving score is based on such factors as the smoothness, consistency and length of time that the driver applies the accelerator and brake pedals during a trip segment.

The base 2015 Soul is equipped with a 130-horsepower 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine linked to a six-speed manual transmission or optional six-speed automatic transmission.

Key competitors to the Soul include the Fiat 500L, Mini Countryman and Scion xB.

Edmunds says: A minimal price increase on the 2015 Soul shouldn't lead consumers to do much soul-searching over this purchase.
