2015 Kia Sorento Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2015 Kia Sorento SUV earned the top five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The Sorento received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Sorento.

Standard safety equipment on the Sorento includes six airbags, antilock brakes, electronic stability control and hill-start assist control.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2015 Sorento.

The Sorento competes with the Chevrolet Equinox, Ford Edge, Honda Pilot and Toyota RAV4.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox and 2015 Honda Pilot earned a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Ford Edge and 2015 Toyota RAV4 have not been rated.
