2015 Hyundai Sonata, GMC Sierra 1500 Featured in Latest Memorial Day Deals

McLEAN, Virginia — The 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT pickup truck and 2015 Hyundai Sonata midsize sedan are featured in the latest Memorial Day weekend deals, according to the NADA Used Car Guide.

"The holiday provides a great opportunity to score an outstanding deal on a new car or truck," NADA Used Car Guide said in a statement on Wednesday.

It added: "Consumers should check with their local dealer to confirm incentive details."

NADA Used Car Guide also noted that over the past three years, current model new-vehicle incentives have increased by an average of 6 percent on a monthly basis in May, which is the highest of any month, except February.

A mid-May list of Memorial Day deals by Edmunds included the 2015 Chevrolet Impala sedan and Traverse SUV. But the deals just keep piling up.

"Many manufacturers are sweetening the pot even further by adding generous cash allowances on top of special financing offers," according to the NADA Used Car Guide.

Case in point is the 2015 GMC Sierra SLT. GMC is offering zero-percent financing for 60 months, plus an additional $2,000 cash allowance.

Hyundai is offering zero-percent financing for up to 75 months on the 2015 Sonata. It is also offering a 90-day deferred payment option.

Chevrolet is putting up to $8,500 in savings on the hood of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4WD pickup truck.

Mazda is offering several special deals, including $4,000 customer bonus cash on the 2015 Mazda CX-9 SUV.

"Acura is giving dealers $9,000 in cash incentives to put toward the sale of its underappreciated and technology rich 2015 RLX sedan," NADA Used Car Guide noted.

Many individual dealers are celebrating Memorial Day with their own special incentives.

Most offers end on June 1.

Edmunds says: Smart shoppers know that stops at dealer showrooms are going to be a key part of their Memorial Day festivities.
