2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The redesigned 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan earned the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis coupe has not been rated.

On sale now at Hyundai dealerships, the 2015 Genesis sedan received five stars in the front, side and rollover crash tests.

The rating applies to rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the 2015 Genesis.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety rated the 2015 Genesis a 2014 Top Safety Pick+. The Genesis received "good" scores in all Institute crash tests and a superior rating for front crash protection.

Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Genesis includes nine airbags, electronic stability control and anti-whiplash head restraints. An automatic emergency braking system is optional.

Key Genesis competitors include the BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CTS and Lexus GS.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 BMW 5 Series and Cadillac CTS also earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Lexus GS has not been rated.
