DETROIT — The 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition, a special version of the pickup truck with a monochromatic look, is set to arrive at GMC dealerships by the end of 2014, GM announced on Friday.

Pricing for the Elevation Edition will be announced later.

The special model is spun off the 2015 Sierra 1500 double-cab pickup truck. The exterior treatment includes a body-colored grille surround, color-keyed door handles, mirror caps, side moldings and front and rear bumpers.

Details include black-painted 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and LED foglamps.

Connectivity is a key part of the package. Bluetooth is standard, along with OnStar with 4G LTE connectivity, which adds an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot for up to seven devices.

The 2015 Sierra Elevation Edition is offered with two- or four-wheel drive. A 285-horsepower 4.3-liter V6 engine is standard.

Competitors to the Sierra Elevation Edition include the Ford F-150 King Ranch and the Ram 1500 Sport.

The Sierra is GMC's flagship truck and sets the foundation for the brand's lineup of professional-grade vehicles.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers get another way to make their GMC Sierra stand out from the pack.
