DETROIT — The 2015 GMC Sierra Carbon Editions, graphics packages that give the workhorse pickup truck some of the cachet of an exotic car, will arrive at dealerships this fall.
GMC dealers are accepting orders for the double-cab 2015 Sierra Carbon Edition models. Crew-cab models will be available to order in early October.
GMC's base 2015 Sierra Carbon Edition starts at $33,075, including a $1,195 destination charge. The 2015 Sierra Carbon 20 Edition starts at $38,275 and the Sierra Carbon 22 Edition starts at $42,270. Prices include shipping.
The base 2015 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a regular cab, two-wheel drive and a standard box starts at $27,800, including shipping, according to Brian Goebel, a GM spokesman. Official 2015 Sierra pricing has not been posted on the GMC vehicle configurator.
The base 2015 Sierra pricing reflects a $630 increase over the 2014 model.
Goebel said the Carbon Editions, which are based on the 2015 Sierra 1500 pickup, are designed to provide buyers with a "cool look and something that's affordable, especially with the base edition."
The Sierra Carbon 22 Edition, which is available on Sierra SLE double- and crew-cab models adds carbon-fiber appearance graphics on the hood and tailgate panel. Additional exterior touches include a black-painted grille and body-color door handles and mirror caps.
The Carbon 22 Edition also adds 4-inch black tubular side assist steps and 22-inch black alloy wheels, along with foglamps, remote keyless start, Universal Home Remote, a 110-volt power outlet and dual-zone climate controls.
The base Sierra Carbon Edition adds a black-painted grille, carbon fiber graphics and body-colored trim, along with LED cargo-box lighting.
All Carbon Editions are available with two- or four-wheel drive.
A 285-horsepower 4.3-liter V6 engine is standard, while a 355-hp 5.3-liter V8 is optional.
Upgrades to the 2015 Sierra include a new eight-speed automatic transmission on 6.2-liter V8 models and optional OnStar with 4G LTE and a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot for greater connectivity.
Edmunds says: This is a unique way to make your 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 stand out from the pack.
