DETROIT — The 2015 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD, a new variant of the heavy-duty Sierras, will arrive at dealerships this summer.

The truck can tackle tough jobs and do double-duty for a night on the town, GM said.

The emphasis is on "greater style," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing, in a statement on Wednesday, while not compromising on "capability that customers demand from a GMC heavy-duty truck on the job."

Pricing has not been announced.

The Sierra All Terrain HD is available on 2500HD and 3500HD double cab and crew cab models in SLE or SLT trims.

Four-wheel drive is standard. Also included is the Z71 Off Road package with Rancho twin-tube shocks, hill-descent control and a skid plate.

The Sierra All Terrain HD can be ordered with the 6.0-liter V8 engine or the 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8.

Other details include a chrome surround on the grille, exterior graphics and 18-inch six-spoke chrome cast-aluminum wheels.

The Sierra All Terrain HD competes with heavy-duty versions of the 2014 Ford F-150 and Ram pickup trucks.

Edmunds says: Truck buyers want to go from the construction site to the country club, and the 2015 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD helps them to do just that.
