DEARBORN, Michigan — The order guide for the 2015 Ford Mustang, containing details about specifications, options, color choices and other information, has been leaked by a dealer and posted online on a Mustang forum.
Although the base price for the 2015 Ford Mustang has not been revealed, some pricing information about specific options and packages is included in the order guide.
As previously reported by Edmunds, three colors are new for the Mustang in 2015: Triple Yellow, Magnetic Metallic and Guard Metallic. But now, according the guide, we know that Triple Yellow is a $495 option, and the returning Ruby Red Tint will cost an extra $395.
Available power plants include the base 3.7-liter V6 and, in the Mustang GT, the 5.0-liter V8, which generates 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. New for 2015 is the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that Ford says will develop "more than" 305 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque.
The EcoBoost performance package is priced at $1,995, and the GT package will retail for $2,495. A six-speed automatic transmission will add $1,195, and a limited-slip rear end will tack on another $395.
Several options in the order guide carry the SVT designation, lending credence to the rumors about an ultra-high-performance edition, perhaps a reincarnated Shelby GT350 or GT500, or possibly a new SVT model.
Of course, the guide shows a wide array of comfort and convenience options, including adaptive cruise control for $1,195, a navigation system priced at $795 and reverse parking assist for $295. There's also a $1,595 interior package with red leather Recaro seats.
One particularly interesting tidbit is a reference to the limited edition 50th Anniversary package, which is based on a 2015 Mustang GT equipped with just about every option available.
The $1,595 package includes 50-year logos inside and out, special leather seats and steering wheel and a unique owner's guide in a leather portfolio. Ford says it will build only 1,964 examples of this model, a number selected to honor the first year of Mustang production. It will be available in either Wimbledon White, an original Mustang color, or Kona Blue.
Although the order guide that is posted online appears to be legitimate, Ford did not respond to requests from Edmunds to confirm its authenticity.
Edmunds says: Excitement builds as more details become available about the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang.
