Five stars is the highest rating.

The Fiat 500 is on sale now at Fiat dealerships.

NHTSA has not rated the 2015 Fiat 500 Cabrio, 2015 Fiat 500L wagon or the Fiat 500e electric car.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2015 Fiat 500.

Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Fiat 500 includes seven airbags, including a driver's knee airbag, along with antilock brakes, traction control and electronic stability control.

The 500 competes with the Chevrolet Spark, Ford Fiesta and Mini Cooper.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Chevrolet Spark and Ford Fiesta also earned a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Mini Cooper has not been rated.
