AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Truckloads of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat muscle car have left the Brampton, Ontario Assembly plant and are on their way to Dodge dealerships, Chrysler said on Thursday.
"Dodge and SRT received more than 4,500 orders for the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in just the first five days after orders opened in September," the company said in a statement. "Those 707-horsepower muscle cars are now leaving the Brampton Assembly plant where they were built and making their way to Dodge customers across the country."
While production estimates were not disclosed, Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of the Dodge and SRT brands, vowed to "build a Challenger Hellcat for every customer who wants one."
Pricing on the Challenger SRT Hellcat starts at $60,990, including a $995 destination charge and $2,100 gas-guzzler tax.
