Based on the iconic poem "Casey at the Bat" by Ernest Thayer, the new campaign continues the Chrysler brand's relationship with Cabrera, baseball's first Triple Crown winner in more than 40 years, which began last fall with the "Road to Greatness" television commercial.
"The Chrysler 200 has come to compete," said Olivier Francois, chief marketing officer for Chrysler Group, in a statement. "Miguel Cabrera exemplifies the exuberance, energy, passion and fortitude of those whose hard work made the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 possible. And like Miggy at bat, the Chrysler 200 steps up to the plate as a competent player and aims to change the game."
While "Miggy at the Bat" will air prominently on national broadcast television, two additional 30-second commercials featuring Cabrera will have targeted cable TV placement. "In the Right Hands" demonstrates that the right tool in the hands of the right person can lead to a transformational outcome, and "Game Changers" shows how Cabrera has the ability to alter the course of a baseball game with one swing of the bat.
The 2015 200 is on sale now at Chrysler dealerships.
