2015 Chevrolet Trax Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The all-new 2015 Chevrolet Trax subcompact SUV earned the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

On sale now at Chevrolet dealerships, the 2015 Trax received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Trax.

Standard safety equipment includes 10 airbags, including rear-seat-mounted thorax airbags. Other standard safety features include a rearview camera, electronic stability control, traction control and antilock brakes.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2015 Trax.

Key competitors to the Trax include the Kia Soul, Nissan Juke and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Kia Soul also received the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The 2015 Nissan Juke has not been rated. The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport received a four-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.
