DALLAS — The 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban Texas Editions bowed on Thursday at the Texas State Fair and will arrive at Chevy dealerships in October.

The Texas Editions are available on the LT and LTZ models.

The special models feature packages of options ranging from $1,095 to $2,195. Details include a Max Trailering package, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels on LT models and 22-inch premium painted aluminum wheels on LTZ models.

Tahoes and Suburbans are favorites of car shoppers in Texas. Chevrolet said sales of the Tahoe and Suburban in Texas to retail buyers are up 37 percent through August.

"Texas is Chevy truck country and the new Tahoe and Suburban Texas Editions celebrate that passion like Friday night football," said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet marketing, in a statement.

The Texas Editions are patterned after a Texas Edition of the Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

Chevrolet also debuted a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado University of Texas Longhorns version earlier this month. It builds on the Texas Edition content, adding an exclusive Sunset Orange Metallic exterior color with college graphics on the rear fenders and tailgate.

It goes on sale nationwide in October with a package price of $795.

To receive the UT Edition, customers must purchase a Silverado Double Cab in LT or LTZ trim, or a Crew Cab in LTZ trim, with the Texas Edition package.

Edmunds says: Fans of the Lone Star state get some special attention from Chevrolet.
