DETROIT — The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Rally Editions, appearance packages designed to help customers make their trucks stand out from the pack, will begin heading to dealerships on September 4, GM said on Thursday.
Double cab Rally Editions can be ordered by Chevrolet dealers nationwide starting on September 4.
Crew cabs will be available for order in early October.
The full-size Chevrolet pickup was completely redesigned in 2014.
The top-of-the-line Rally 2 Edition package for the 2015 Silverado LT is priced at $7,160-$7,260, minus a $1,350 option-package discount, Chevrolet spokesman Tom Wilkinson told Edmunds. The simpler Rally 1 package for WT and LS Silverado pickups is $1,140, minus a $600 option-package discount.
Wilkinson said overall pricing on the 2015 Silverado is not available yet, but Wilkinson said it is expected to be posted on Chevrolet.com soon.
"We are drawing on our heritage a bit," Wilkinson said in response to an e-mailed query. "We have done Rally and Rally Sport packages in the past. (We're) trying to select items that work well with the design of our trucks.
The Rally 2 Edition package includes a body-colored grille with a black bowtie, 22-inch black alloy wheels, black tubular side steps and black mirror caps and door handles. Twin black Rally stripes on the hood and tailgate round out the package.
Other details include a trailering package with a hitch and automatic locking rear differential, 10-way power driver seat, dual-zone climate control, remote start, back-up camera and rear defroster.
The Rally 1 Edition package for the 2015 Silverado LS models includes the body-colored grille with black bowtie, black door handles and mirror caps and two black rally stripes.
Wilkinson said he could not "pinpoint an exact competitor" to the Rally Editions.
Edmunds says: Chevrolet keeps it interesting with these new appearance packages for the 2015 Silverado.
