2015 Chevrolet City Express Begins Shipping to Dealers

DETROIT — The 2015 Chevrolet City Express cargo van began shipping to dealers on Thursday, according to General Motors.

The City Express will be a part of Business Choice, an incentive program that provides qualified business owners with a $350 Upfit Cash allowance.

Chevrolet will offer customers "ship-thru service," which sends the vehicle directly to an upfitter from the plant and the upfit vehicle is delivered directly to the dealer once it is finished.

Upfit is a general term for any type of truck body mounted onto the bare frame of a commercial chassis.

The 2015 Chevrolet City Express starts at $22,950, including a $995 destination charge.

The City Express is a two-passenger small cargo van aimed at small business owners. It is produced by Nissan and spun off the Nissan NV200.

Standard features on the base City Express LS model include dual rear sliding doors, power windows, 40/60-split rear cargo doors that open 90 and 180 degrees, solid rear doors with optional tinted-glass windows, center console storage with a standard file folder bin and a 12-volt power outlet.

The City Express is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine rated at 131 horsepower. The commercial vehicle has an estimated payload capacity of 1,500 pounds.
