2015 Buick Regal Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2015 Buick Regal sedan earned the top five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

On sale now at Buick dealerships, the 2015 Regal received four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions of the Regal.

Standard safety equipment on the 2015 Regal includes a rearview camera and six airbags. Premium II and GS models feature rear-seat thorax airbags, for a total of eight standard airbags. Other standard safety features include stability control, traction control and antilock brakes. Front and rear park assist is standard on the Regal GS.

Optional safety features include lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, forward collision alert and side blind zone alert.

The 2015 Regal has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Key Regal competitors include the Audi A4, Lincoln MKZ and Volvo S60.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers should note that the 2015 Audi A4 and Lincoln MKZ also earned the top five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2015 Volvo S60 has not been rated.
