WASHINGTON The 2015 Buick Enclave earned the highest five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2015 Enclave has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Standard equipment on the 2015 Enclave includes a new front center airbag. This airbag deploys from the inboard side of the driver's seat and inflates between the driver and front passenger, providing added protection for both passengers in side-impact crashes.

Standard safety features also include traction control, panic brake assist, a rearview camera system and a total of seven airbags, including head curtain side airbags that cover outboard passengers in all three rows.

Key competitors to the Enclave include the 2014-'15 Acura MDX, Hyundai Santa Fe and Lincoln MKT.

Edmunds says: For car shoppers keeping score, the 2015 Acura MDX also earned the highest five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The Hyundai Santa Fe and Lincoln MKT have not been rated.
